In partnership with our friends at the Stanley Park Ecology Society, we are pleased to introduce our new Conservation Corner beer series in conjunction with the ongoing educational initiatives on display at our Brewpub. This beer features invasive blackberry (Rubus Iaciniatus) and burdock root (Arctium spp) that are emerging and expanding in Stanley Park.
We added blackberry puree during the fermentation process, and burdock root in the kettle to provide the earthy notes. A rich, dark, and malty German Lager, with a subtle roast character from the dark malts, is accented by lush blackberry fruit flavour and aroma.
